Social Engagement Specialist- Conversation & Company

As an aging specialist and former psychotherapist, Jamie Levin has been helping older adults navigate periods of transition, loss, and loneliness for over 10 years. She is deeply committed to working with the elderly – which stems from the close relationship she had with her maternal grandmother, Beulah.

In 2019, Jamie founded an organization that provides one-on-one social visits and meaningful connections with older adults in their homes and communities. These visits – often one to three times a week - are centered around conversation and social connection, where the client is engaged, validated, supported, and understood.

Jamie also serves on the board for the Beaverton Committee on Aging as an advocate for the city's aging population.

Prior to moving to Portland, Jamie lived throughout France, where she immersed herself in French culture and learned how best to serve clients in a virtual setting – skills that she continues to draw upon during COVID-19.

Alia Alhumaid, MD is the founder of Evergreen Geriatrics, LLC, a private geriatric medicine consultative practice located in Lake Oswego, OR.  At Evergreen Geriatrics, Dr Alhumaid strives to provide patients with the high-quality, comprehensive, holistic care that is necessary to promote optimal and healthy aging!  Unlike most healthcare clinics which function “reactively” – that is, waiting for a problem to develop before it is identified and treated – Evergreen strives to be “proactive” in its care.  Through thorough evidence-based evaluation, lifestyle modification, and appropriate use of medications and therapies, Evergreen strives to catch decline before it happens, thereby maintaining health and vibrancy through every decade!  By keeping patient numbers low, Dr Alhumaid is able to be readily available to her patients and to provide unrushed, extended appointments during which all aspects of health can be evaluated and treated.

Dr Alhumaid completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins University in 2010.  She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Lahey Clinic in Boston, MA in 2009 after graduating from The George Washington University School of Medicine in 2006.  Dr Alhumaid resides in Lake Oswego with her husband, and three children.  Alia worked in primary care and geriatrics prior to opening Evergreen Geriatrics, LLC in 2022.

Maryann has enjoyed a rewarding career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and practices in the Skilled Nursing rehab settings throughout the Portland Metro and Willamette Valley region since 2011. She is skilled in gently stepping into someone’s healing process & empowering her patients’ return to as safe and independent a life as possible.

The unexpected terminal diagnosis of her father, resulting in his death at home 15 months later, offered Maryann the opportunity to utilize her therapeutic skills beyond the “curative” realm of the medical world.
