Who I am and how can I help you.

I am a licensed insurance agent in Oregon, Washington, and California and can help

people who are on Medicare and reside in those states. Many people rely on my

expertise to guide them when they have questions or difficulties. My services are at no

cost to you as I am compensated by the individual insurance companies when you fill

out an application with me.

I offer many plans and choosing one to fit your needs is my goal. When I meet with

someone, I focus on what is most important to them. I consider many things, such as,

do you need to receive routine medical treatment and care in another state, not just

care for an emergency or urgent situation? Or do you like travelling internationally?

Since Medicare generally won’t cover medical care outside of the United States, you

want to be sure you have adequate health coverage on your international vacations.

If you are new to Medicare, I will explain what Medicare is, what it covers, what it

doesn’t cover and what your different options are. By the end of our appointment time,

most people feel much more confident in choosing a plan that is right for them.

We are coming up on the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP.) It begins October 15 and will

end December 7. This is the opportunity you have each year to shop for Medicare

Advantage and Part D Prescription Drug Plans. During this time, you can complete an

application for the plan of your choice, and your new plan will take effect on January 1

of the following year.

Many people, however, don’t know there is another opportunity during the year to

change your Medicare Advantage Plan.

The Open Enrollment Period (OEP) extends from January 1 through March 31 and

provides two options:

1. An opportunity to disenroll from a Medicare Advantage Plan and go back to

Original Medicare, with an option to select a Part D Prescription Drug Plan.

2. An opportunity to disenroll from one Medicare Advantage Plan and enroll in a

different Medicare Advantage Plan of your choice.

This is a great opportunity, especially for those who may not have fully understood the

benefits of the plan in which they enrolled. Perhaps they did not have an agent to help

fully explain all the benefits and nuances of their new plan and now realize the plan they

chose does not cover specific benefits or providers they need.

If you need help finding a plan to meet your needs, please feel free to contact me at

503-803-1411 or nora@insurewithnora.com.
